Ordinance Requirements

Guys, there was a meeting regarding sign ordinances. I was asked to join but as they kept revising the meeting time I was dropped out of the loop.

Here is the nutshell from Dave Rubello:

  1. A-frame signs on the rite-of-way will now be permitted. they must be professional and displayed only when the business of open. I think there will be a once a year permit required to use them.

  2. Digital signs are now permitted to change the display once every 30-seconds rather than the 5-minute restriction now in effect. Mancuso's Florest will be pleased.

  3. Nautical mile merchants will now be able to change or alter signs w/out having to come before council first, a time wasting requirement. This is only an old requirement for nautical mile merchants.

All this was passed in 1 1/2 hours, we were not needed cuz it all went our way anyhow.

Next on their agenda is to:
Change signage for the rear of businesses, currently we are only allowed 4 sq ft of signage.
Reduce required parking for business.

Dave promises to keep us in the loop so we can attend the next meeting.
Any requests for changes to ordinances can be sent to me and I'll take or get them to the involved for the next meeting.

Thanks,
Blair Gilbert
